  • Three dives — two at the Phi Phi Islands, one on the way back
  • Runs daily, all year round
  • Suits every level of certified diver

About this course

Phi Phi sits about 40km south-east of Phuket, and the day is built around two dives there plus a third closer to home.

The islands are limestone, formed millions of years ago, and underwater that shows: gently sloping coral reefs, boulder formations, and some walls dropping to around 32 metres. Currents are usually mild and visibility is normally 10 to 20 metres, though it regularly reaches 30.

Divers at Phi Phi have a chance of black tip reef sharks, leopard sharks, turtles, ghost pipefish, ribbon eels, frogfish, lionfish, stingrays and sea snakes — no promises, but that is the cast.

Lunch is served between the two Phi Phi dives, and the boat stops roughly halfway back for the third. That is usually Shark Point, though the tour leader may pick Anemone Reef or Koh Doc Mai depending on the currents that day.

Prerequisites

  • PADI Open Water certification or the equivalent from another agency
  • Medical questionnaire before diving
