About this course
A reef stops being scenery once you understand what is happening on it.
This course is about relationships rather than names — which animals depend on each other, which are territorial and why that fish keeps charging you, what the difference is between an animal that is hiding and one that is hunting. It also spends useful time on the myths, because a lot of what divers believe about marine life is inherited from films.
It is the specialty that most changes what you notice, and it makes every dive afterwards a longer one, because you stop swimming past things.
Three dives rather than the two required, spread across two days of diving.
Prerequisites
- PADI Open Water certification or the equivalent from another agency
- Medical questionnaire before diving

- Scuba diving equipment during the course
- Complimentary return transfers from Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata, and parts of Rawai, Nai Harn and Chalong

Not included
- Boat transfers from areas outside the complimentary pick-up areas
- Phi Phi National Marine Park fees, currently 600 THB per diver, paid in cash directly to the marine park police on the boat
